WELCOME

Welcome to Far East Lindy Hoppers (Kyokutoh-linbu-dan). FELH gives information to the people who are interested in Lindy Hop and Swing Dance. Lindy Hop is a kind of "couple dance," which was very popular in 1930's and 1940's in the U.S. and all over the world. It was the origin of swing dance, and they danced to the swing jazz music such as Benny Goodman and Count Basie in those ages. Then, there had been a decrease in its popularity because the world war II occurred and main jazz stream changed from swing jazz to bebop. However, there has been occurred the swing dance revival movement since the middle 1980's. Nowadays, they dance Lindy Hop to the music of not only swing jazz but also neo-swing and jump blues all over the world as a popular party dance. OK, now, let's dance Lindy Hop with us and have fun!
